Overview
Osprey Inspection ran a full topside drone inspection of Deepsea Bergen, a semi-submersible drilling rig Odfjell Drilling operates on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. We documented the condition of the rig's high steelwork, coatings and safety-critical structures while it stayed in operation, in place of the usual rope-access and scaffolding work. Every flight was coordinated with the OIM and platform crew and flown inside approved SIMOPS windows. No production stop.
Working off a moving semi-submersible in open water, our offshore-certified pilots flew collision-tolerant UAVs right up to the derrick, crane boom and helideck underside, so nobody had to work at height. 4K video and high-resolution stills captured corrosion, coating breakdown and weld condition to a standard that holds up for NS 415 visual structural assessment.

Deliverables
The report we handed over included GPS-referenced photographs, a defect register with severity ratings aligned to NS 415 VT categories, annotated findings, and maintenance recommendations the rig's integrity team could act on directly. We indexed the point-of-interest imagery by structure so follow-up crews could find what they needed fast.
