Overview
Osprey Inspection carried out a confined space drone inspection of industrial storage tanks for an operator in Norway. The client needed a full internal condition assessment across several tanks, covering shell plates, roof plates, floor plates, internal fittings and nozzles, without putting anyone inside the tanks.
Getting a person into a tank for a conventional inspection means gas freeing, cleaning, scaffolding, ventilation management and confined space entry permits, usually days of prep before anyone even looks at the steel. The drone approach skipped all of that. No entry, less prep, lower risk, and the coverage held up just as well as a walk-down inspection would have.

Deliverables
We got full internal visual coverage of each tank in a fraction of the time a conventional entry-based survey would have taken. The client received a condition report with annotated imagery, a defect register, severity classification and maintenance recommendations, so they could start planning repairs without waiting on a full inspection campaign to wrap up first.
